"Unlocking Your Style: Tips for Choosing the Perfect Color Palette"

Did you know that wearing the right colors in clothing, makeup, and accessories can instantly make you shine? When I was growing up, my mother once told me that she attended a party among women in which they all got color printed. I thought to myself " What does that mean" lol. Years later I realized this was essential in so many ways in my life. By getting "color printed" she was able to determine which colors looked best on her, and once she figured that out she stuck to that rule for life. I was so grateful that she passed down that beauty secret to me because it literally changed the way how I look at everything. In this blog post, I will give you my strategies and tips on how wearing the right colors will complement your skin tone, hair color, and eye color, thus making you appear more vibrant and attractive. In addition to the above, wearing the right colors will make you appear more memorable in social situations. People are often drawn to those who stand out from the crowd, and wearing colors that suit you well can help you do just that.

RULE # 1 The Vein Test

The simplest test you can do is to look at the back of your wrist to determine the color of your veins. Do your veins have blueish or purplish color? If so that would mean that you would look best in Cool Tones. Cool tones consist of colors like gray, blue, purple, burgundy, red, black, white, silver, or pink. If your veins are more of a green color then Warm Tones would suit you best. Examples of warm tones include orange, brown, beige, olive green, green, yellow, peach, terracotta, and rust. You may also be dual/neutral. To figure out if you are, your veins may appear colorless or match the color of your skin.

RULE # 2 Look In The Mirror

Mirror mirror on the wall! Pick up a piece of clothing cool or warm and hold it up next to you while you look in the mirror. Ask yourself " Is this color doing anything? Do I look vibrant? Is it making me look dull and washed out? Yeah it may look nice or it may even be an expensive blouse but is it really making you shine? , if not then that's not your color. You could have the most expensive designer piece of clothing but if it's the wrong color, it will do absolutely nothing. I personally would wear a $2 tee shirt in my right color then a $1000 designer blouse that makes me look dusty!

Rule # 3 Everybody Can't Wear Silver

If you have highlighted caramel tones in your hair do not wear silver jewelry. Time and time again I see so many women with warm highlights wearing a purple or gray colored tops with silver jewelry, and black glasses and I say to myself in my head " Wrong" lol! Stop clashing! Unless you have black, gray, salt and pepper, or ash blonde/platinum hair color then you are good to go with silver jewelry. For gold jewelry, for those with brown, caramel, dark brown, or reddish brown hair color, gold will look amazing on you. For makeup with cool tones, try to wear blue-based red lipstick ( it will also make your teeth appear very white) magenta, and lavender-colored lipstick work as well. For warm tones stick with corals, red-orange, copper, or nudes.

RULE # 4 Everyone Looks Good in Black or White. Contrary to popular belief!

For some reason, black or white will look good on all skin tones. If you are warm and wear black, remember to wear gold jewelry with your outfit. If you are cool tone and wear a black dress silver jewelry works best. As long as you have the right shade of lipstick and jewelry you will be fine. For example, you could even be warm and wear a gray top ( which is a cool tone) but as long as you have yellow earrings on it will work. The main rule to remember is to always have your color up close by your face.

Blend in for what?

All in all, if you stick to these four simple rules you will start to see things differently not only in your clothing but also in your mood. Wearing the right colors will make you fabulous and free. When you also wear colors that match your mood, it can help enforce feelings of positivity and make you feel more confident. As I stated earlier, wearing my colors ( which I am warm-toned) shaped how I do and see everything. From how I decorate my house, to the cafes I visit and even the places I travel to. I often look up places and events ahead of time which I know will have a warm tone color scheme or background to enhance my outfit of the day and my photography. Ultimately, the key is to wear the right colors because in the end they will complement and elevate your style. Blend in for what? You were made to stand out.
